So you want to see more traffic on your blog?
This post contains affiliate links and I’ll earn a small commission if you shop through them. This is how I help to make money so I can continue to bring you amazing content!
When I launched this blog, I was determined to make it one of my jobs. I knew it would take as much time as a job (can I get an amen?), but I wanted income. I knew it would take time but I did plenty of research and I would like to think that I have been working smart. I’m on month five of blogging and I’ve already had the pleasure of posting two income reports! (See those Here & Here.)
I think it goes without saying, if you want to make money from your blog you are going to need to get yourself some page views. I’m not saying you need 10k views a day to make a buck, I am nowhere NEAR that type of traffic. But there are tools I have found that boost my traffic and keep it steady.
Here’s the strategies you can’t live without:
- Facebook Groups
- Evergreen Plugin
- Guest Posting
First things first, if you are blogging, you need to join several Facebook groups immediately. Social media is a big way to grow your traffic and build a base of people who are eager to read your content and see what you are up to! When you are in the early stages of growing any social media stream (or even if you are more established) using these groups gets your stuff out there.
I have a few that I am using on a weekly basis:
These groups share threads which are essentially Facebook link-ups. You comment with whatever the tread specified, i.e. a pin, blog post, twitter account, etc. And then you will share or follow (dependent on the thread) a certain number of other blogger’s stuff in exchange! It’s amazing and I am so glad that I found these groups.
If you are interested in learning about more groups I’m in, check me out on Facebook.
Once you have those followers, you have to be posting to keep them engaged. I am just going to go ahead and say it is humanly impossible to “live post” to all of your different medias on a daily basis. You have to schedule them ahead of time to ease your mind.
I use Hootsuite to schedule my Twitter and Facebook posts (when I am good about doing it…) and it is a breeze. The site is free to use and I honestly don’t see why I would need to upgrade to the paid options for what I need. The “autoschedule” tool is the real winner here because it automatically posts for you when the most people will see it.
The thing driving the most traffic to my website, by a long shot, is Tailwind. I am seeing a minimum of 300 views a day coming directly from Pinterest. There is no chance I could be pinning an eight as much as I am now if I did not have it automated.
While Tailwind is an investment, it is 100% worth every single dime! You get a month for free so why not give it a shot and drive the most traffic you’ve ever seen to your blog? Sometimes you gotta spend money to make it, sista!
If you are using WordPress for your blog, you should check out the Evergreen Post Tweeter plugin! It literally just shares your older posts on twitter at a set interval, automatically. It is just one more way to share your content without actively thinking about it.
Even if you don’t see a ton of traffic from this, it takes roughly 3 minutes to set up so I think you can justify the time 🙂
Why not cash in on other blogger’s success bring their readers over to your blog? Creating content to be shared on another blogger’s site and/or featuring other bloggers on yours is a win/win! It’s also a wonderful way to bond with another blogger and have an ally to confide in.
So far, I have been featured on one other blog but I know that number will grow soon enough! If you are curious to check that out, you can do so Here.
We are all out here trying to find success in the blogosphere and I am a firm believer in sharing what I know. I am constantly reading other blogs and trying to learn as much as I can! In fact, I have several boards dedicated to just that on Pinterest!
If you have any tips you’d like to share with me I would love to hear them! Share in the comments!
